Strength for the Climb

My blog is a personal journey of the blessings I have been entrusted with and the strength I have been given to make the climb. I invite you to follow along as I write about faith, family, and Down syndrome.

I miss running...

So it's been at least four months since my last entry and my life has changed dramatically....like never before! Currently, I am 29 weeks pregnant and my little BOY :) wants to run too! He kicks so much, which makes me smile and I know that they are only going to get harder and stronger!

When we went in for our ultrasound at 21 weeks, the sonographer, Kua, said that this little guy must be runner because he has great CALVES! :) Can you believe that?? If I counted the number of times people commented about Chris' calves, I would be rich! Chris and I just looked at each other and laughed! It is definitely our kid! :)

Well I will try to be better at writing...but the title of this one is that I miss running. I miss the way I feel after a hard run, I miss sweating, I miss my therapy sessions that I get when running, I miss how my digestive system works when I run, I miss my tone legs/arms/stomach, I miss my self confidence in doing something difficult, I miss pushing through, I miss...

I could go on and on...I ran for 8 minutes on Friday and after going 2.5 miles in 35 minutes, I had my first real contraction. It was the weirdest feeling I have ever had. I had to stop in my track and just pray it would pass. There weren't any more in the hour and according to my doctor, if I have 5 or more, then I need to call the doctor. I DO NOT want to go into preterm labor and then put on bed rest...because then I would miss STANDING! :) So from here on out...walking and the eliptical machine will be my source of movement! :) Until next time...
